Substituting this value in

1/2 - tan A - tan A
1 /2 - 2 tan A
1/2 = 2 tan A
tan A = 1/4.
substituting this value of tan A in (i)
sin A + 1/4 = 1/2
4 sin A + 1 = 2
sin A = 1/4
