sin-cos = 0.5 = 1/2

(sin-cos)^2 = 1/4

sin^2 + cos^2 - 2sincos = 1/4

1 - 2sincos = 1/4

2sincos = 1 - 1/4

2sincos = 3/4...(1)

(sin+cos)^2 = sin^2 + cos^2 +2sincos

(sin+cos)^2 = 1 + 2sincos

(sin+cos)^2 = 1+ 3/4 (from 1)

(sin+cos)^2 = 7/4

Taking Square Root on both sides

sin + cos = √7/2.
