sin a - cos a = 1/2
(sin a - cos a) (sin a +cos a) /sin a + cos a = 1/2
sin² a -cos² a / sin a +cos a = 1/2
since sin² a + cos ² a =11- cos² a - cos² a / (sin a +cos a) = 1/2
(1-2cos2a )/ (sin a + cos a) = 1/2
(sin a - cos a) (sin a +cos a) /sin a + cos a = 1/2
sin² a -cos² a / sin a +cos a = 1/2
since sin² a + cos ² a =11- cos² a - cos² a / (sin a +cos a) = 1/2
(1-2cos2a )/ (sin a + cos a) = 1/2
