Use formulas

 \sin(x)  +  \sin(y)  = 2 \sin( \frac{x + y}{2} )  \cos( \frac{x - y}{2} ) \\  \cos(x)  +  \cos(y)  = 2 \cos( \frac{x + y}{2} )  \cos( \frac{x - y}{2} )

As you can see cos terms cancels out and you get desired result.
