=> Because stars are so far away, it takes years for their light to reach us. Therefore, when you look at a star, you are actually seeing what it looked like years ago.

Its really funny...
i will give you a example...
imagine there are aliens from another galaxy..
if they use very Powerful Telescope and see the Earth..
They might be see Dinosaurs wandering around...
So the lights travels long distance, but in reality its happened before...
In 2012 a star was decayed seen ....but scientists found that it happened 100 Light years back...
The Light took 100 years to travel earth...
