I guess you're expecting to get energy, using only magnets and no other energy source.

This is impossible of course, since it violates the law of energy conservation. Electricity can only be generated from some other form of energy, like solar, wind or heat.
Magnets simply exert a force on opposite poles. As long as a magnet doesn't move, its not doing any work. Hence, it cannot be considered a source of energy.
Just because something exerts a force, doesn't mean you can harness energy from it. Think of it this way. You're standing on the ground right now. The ground is exerting gravity on you and you are pushing it back. Both of you are standing still. Are you doing any work? Can you harness energy from standing? No. Similarly, there's no way to harness energy from a magnet. Think of a stamp, stuck to a paper using glue. The stamp is pulling on the paper. Does this mean you can generate infinite energy from it?

To generate energy, something must move. Work must be done.
Magnets don't do any work. They just exert a force on other metals. That's not a source of energy, any more than a table standing on the floor is.

Originally Answered: Why do we don't use magnets to generate electricity even if it is possible? Simply stated: Magnets don't do work. The force they exert on a charge is always perpendicular to the motion of the charge, the energy transferred is therefore zero.
