Since they have given that the wire is doubled, why not 'length'(l) be 2l ?

if a wire is doubled on itself it's length is halved and area of cross section is doubled so the resistance becomes one fourth of previous value...but specific resistance remains unchanged....

if you stretch wire the length is doubled and area is halved but if you double the wire length is halved and area is doubled

they have used the word" double"
