Answer:
first of all... your question is invalid.
if u look at the statistics out of the 50% population you are stating there are less than 12 % women who have the seats in lok sabha and less than 15% when it comes to Rajya sabha. if this persists women will start losing their rights.... if no women in Indian parliament.. who will listen to them and their rights.
like come on. even with reservations there are only 60 women candidates in lok sabha. what do u say..?
Answer:
Even though women constitutes approximately 50% of Indian population, roughly not even 30% of them enter the workforce while men in workforce stand strong at nearly 80%.
The women in parliament is just 14. 5% as oposed to the men.
Reservation should be given to women in parliament because it is that 14.5% which decides how the rest 50% should live in a country. They make the rules and the laws for other women to follow. If this 14.5% decline even more, then a bunch of men will have to regulate the womankind in our country(History has shown us that this is not the best thing to do). To what extent do you think they will understand the problems of an everyday Indian woman?
Hence we need more women in the parliament and maintain a 50-50 balance just like an equal sex ratio.
