Emperor Akbar ,the son of Humayun and grandson of Babur was the third mughal emperor who reigned from 1556 to 1605.

He became the emperor at a very young age of 13 years after his father's death due an accident. Bairam Khan, Humayun's governor general guided Akbar during this period. Akbar was one of the successful mughal emperors in the Mughal dynasty. He was succeeded by his son Jahangir at 1605 after his death.
