Sipoy objection to cartridge

In February 1857 sepoys objected that the new catridges they have been asked to use are greased with the fat of pig as well as cow. Mangal pandey was hanged to death for disobeying his senior officers. Due to which this mutiny begin a great rebel in which sepoys gathered and ask Bahadur Shah Zafar to be the leader of uprising , many peoples from middle India participated in this revolt. This rebellion is known as rebellion of 1857.
