Sir, i was just wondering if vibrations can travel in solids then why don't astronomers who are in space, use a rod. They can just put it on their HELMET (INSIDE WHICH THEY HAVE AIR.) and the vibrations inside their helmets can travel into to the rod's particles and they can talk. IS THIS POSSIBLE?​​

No this is not possible at all....If this is done the the Astronauts can't move freely and have problems in doing their works...moreover the vibration produced will not be so large that the astronaut can talk to each other.....
