Besides his work on universal gravitation (gravity), Newton developed the three laws of motion which form the basic principles of modern physics. His discovery of calculus led the way to more powerful methods of solving mathematical problems. He did invent reflecting lenses for telescopes, which produced clearer images in a smaller telescope compared with the refracting models of the time. In his later years, he developed anti-counterfeiting measures for coins, including the ridges you see on quarters today. Among his biggest "inventions" was calculus.Newton's three laws of motion may be stated as follows: Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it.

Answer:

Explanation:

Isaac Newton’s discoveries gave physics its theoretical foundation, granted powerful tools to mathematics and created a launch pad for future developments in science.

I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.

This thought offers a rare insight into the workings of great minds like Newton. An inherent curiosity about the world, an appreciation of beauty, the excitement of exploring a mystery and a relentless pursuit of truth are the prime driving forces of a creative mind.

One of the greatest scientists of all time, Sir Isaac Newton’s discoveries led to a deeper understanding of nature and gave physics (known as Natural Philosophy in his time) a firm physical and mathematical foundation.
