1. "4 times a certain number" is rewritten algebraically as 4x
2. "is as much less than 60" is rewritten that 60 - 4x
3. "7 times the number" is rewritten as 7x
4. "is greater than 61" is rewritten as 7x-61
5. Since the two terms are the same (the second "as"), the two terms can be set equal to one another:
1. 60 - 4x = 7x -61
2. 121 = 11x
3. x = 11 {Answer}
