The answer will be 13. x(x-8) + (x-2)(x-3) =1.75 dollars. =175cents. x(square)-8x-x(square)-5x=175. 2x(square)-13x+6=175. 2x(square)-13x-169=0. Factorise 2x(square)-13x-169 =0. =2x(square)-26x + 13x -169=0. 2x(x-13) + 13(x-13) =0. (2x+13)(x-13) =0. (x-13) =0 x=13. Hope this helps u. Please mark as brainliest answer.

Laibliz: @VaniR how did you get -26 there ??
bhanurapelly25: we have to factorise that equation
vaniR: If we factorise -13= -26x+13x

cost of each egg = (x-8) ¢
cost of x eggs = x(x-8) ¢
similarly
cost of each bread roll = (x-3)¢
cost of (x-2) bread rolls = (x-2)(x-3)
total bill is 1.75$ = 175¢
so you can write an equation as
x(x-8) + (x-2)(x-3) = 175
this is quadratic equation
solving gives you the required answer as 13
