vrough a height of 8 m. Sita takes 1.5 minutes while
Gita takes 2.1 minutes to accomplish the task. Compare

The work done in both the cases is the same but there is a difference in power.

Explanation:

WORK

The work done in both the cases is the same because

W = F*d

W - Work

F - Force

d - Displacement

as it can be seen the work done is directly dependent on the force acting on the object and the displacement

in both the cases the weight of the person is the same that means the same force of 40*9.8 acts on both ( M*g) where M is the mass and g is the gravitational constant

And both of them cover the same displacement.

hence the work done in both the cases is the same.

POWER

P = W/ t

let the same work done in both the cases be supposed as x

Sita - x/1.5 and Gita - x/2.1

as x being the magnitude of work will be a non zero number

x/1.5 > x/2.1

hence the power exerted by Sita will be more than the power exerted by Gita
