Sita took out a thread from the edge of 2 sarees shown by the shopkeeper and burnt them. one thread burnt with a smell of burning hair and another burnt with the smell of burning paper. Which thread is from pure cotton saree and which one is from silk saree? give a reason .

The thread which burned with the smell of burning hair was of silk Saree and the other was of pure cotton Saree.
This can be justified as silk and hair both contain proteins so both have similar smell on burning while cotton and paper are both obtained from plants so they smell like each other on burning.
