Let x = number of bottles the tin held initially

"was 4/5 full. When six bottle of oil were taken out and four bottles of oil were poured in, it was 3/4 full" means

(4/5)x - 6 + 4 = (3/4)x

(4/5)x - 2 = (3/4)x

16x - 40 = 15x [multiply by LCM=20]

x = 40
