Solution :-

Let 6 floors from lower to top as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 .

Statement 1) :- F lives on the topmost floor .

  • F = 6
  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, F

Statement 2) :- Only three people live between C and F.

  • C = 2
  • 1, C, 3, 4, 5, F

Statement 3) :- Only two people live between B and C.

  • B = 5
  • 1, C, 3, 4, B, F

Statement 4) :- Only two people live between E and D.

  • E, C, 3, D, B, F
  • D, C, 3, E, B, F

Statement 5) :- The number of people between A and B is equal to the number of people between C and D.

  • E, C, A, D, B, F
  • Between A and B = 1 people
  • Between C and D = 1 people .

therefore, we can conclude that, E lives on the lowermost floor .
