8 men and 16 women do twice as big as this work in 15 days

Solution:

Given that,

six men or 12 women can do a piece of work in 20 days

Therefore,

6m \times 20 = 12w \times 20

6m = 12w\\\\m = 2w\\\\\frac{m}{w} = \frac{2}{1} = \frac{\text{efficiency of man}}{\text{efficiency of women}}

Therefore,

Total work = 6 x 2 x 20 = 240 units

8 men and 16 women do twice as big as this work

Total work = 2(240) = 480 units

One day work of 8m + 16w = 8 x 2 + 16 x 1 = 16 + 16 = 32

Total time taken by 8m + 16w = 480/32 = 15

Thus,  8 men and 16 women do twice as big as this work in 15 days
