∴3y2−15y−y+5=0

∴(y−5)(3y−1)=0

∴y=5 or y=13

Clearly the only possible solution here is y=5 as the age must be >2.

Thus x=4(5)+9=29

So the present age of woman is 29 yrs and that of child is 5 yrs.
