Let the present age of Salman is x years and the present age of Shabbir is y years.

6 year before age of Salman is (x-6)and Shabbir is (y-6).

6 year after age from present age

of Salman is (x+6) and Shabbir is

(y+6).

From the first condition,

(x-6)/(y-6)=1/2

2(x-6)=y-6

2x-12=y-6

2x-y=12-6

2x-y=6......(1)

From the second condition,

(x+6)/(y+6)=3/4

4(x+6)=3(y+6)

4x+24=3y+18

4x-3y=24+18

4x-3y=6.....(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 2,we get

4x-2y=12.....(3)
