Solution: Let present ages of two be A and B
†According to the question†
A:B = 2:3
3A = 2B .......(1)
or,
A–6 = B–6/2
2A–12 = B–6
2A–B = –6+12
2A–B = 6
2A= 6+B.........(2)
†Now, Putting the value of equation (2) in equation (1) , We got
2(6+B) = 3B
12+2B = 3B
12 = 3B–2B
12 = B
Hence , Age of B is 12 years
And, Age of A = 6+12/2 = 18/2 = Years
