There is a error in the question.

Question:

Six years ago Anu was 'P' times as old as

Penny was. If Anu is now 17 years old,

how old is Penny now in terms of 'P'?

Answer:

Given:

  • Six years ago Anu was 'P' times as old as  Penny was
  • Anu is now 17 years old

To find:

  • The age of Penny in terms of 'p'

Solving Question:

Let 'x' be the age of penny and 'y' be that of Anu.

Therefore according to the question;

Six years ago Anu was 'P' times as old as  Penny was

⇒ (y-6) = p(x-6)

Anu is now 17 years old

It is here that Anu is 17 years we can put this value

17-6= p(x-6)

or, 11 = p(x-6)

or, 11/p +6 = x = anu's age
