A single individual skeletal muscle is made up of hundreds or thousands of muscle fibers wrapped together in a connective tissue covering.
Each muscle is surrounded by connective tissue cover called the epimysium.
Each bundle of muscle fiber is called a fasciculus and is surrounded by a layer of connective tissue called the perimysium.
and a muscle fibre  aka myocyte is surrounded by endomysium ; layer of areolar connective tissue .
it aids the exchange of much needed calcium, sodium, and potassium ions .
