Answers
Answer:
The skeletal system works as a support structure for your body. It gives the body its shape, allows movement, makes blood cells, provides protection for organs and stores minerals. The skeletal system is also called the musculoskeletal system
There are four main services offered by the human skeleton.
Support
The bony framework keeps the body upright and provides a definite shape to the body.
Protection
It protects the soft internal organs of the body, e.g., the heart and lungs are protected by the ribs, the brain is protected by the skull, etc.
Production of Blood Cells
Bones are hard from outside but are soft and spongy inside. Inside the bones there is a soft, jelly-like substance call to the bone marrow. New blood cells are produced in the bone marrow.
Movement
Skeleton helps in the movement of various body parts such as arms, legs, fingers, etc. The human skeleton is made up of different parts to facilitate the movement in the body.
