The hydrogen molecules acquire a slight positive charge and the oxygen molecule acquire a slight negative charge. A molecule of water is basically an angular or bent shape. The H-O-H bond angle in a molecule of water is 104.5 degrees. This angle  is very close to the 109.5 degree bond angles of methane. The molecule of water has a tetrahedral arrangement of the three electron pairs accounts for the angular arrangements of the three atoms. Thus the molecule of water is formed.
