Answer:

Sketch of Adipose Connective Tissue

Explanation:

Adipose Connective Tissue

  • It is a connective tissue that is very specialized. It is comprised mainly of adipocytes i.e cells rich in lipid content whose main function is to conserve energy in the form of lipids.
  • Its function is for the collection and storage of fat for the metabolism of energy in the form of triglycerides.
  • It is also called body fat and can be present all over the body like under the skin, between the muscles, etc.

1.Adipose tissue is commonly known as body fat. It is found all over the body. It can be found under the skin (subcutaneous fat), packed around internal organs (visceral fat), between muscles, within bone marrow and in breast tissue.

2.Adipose tissue, also known as fat tissue or fatty tissue, is a connective tissue that is mainly composed of fat cells called adipocytes. Adipocytes are energy storing cells that contain large globules of fat known as lipid droplets surrounded by a structural network of fibers.

3.The adipose tissue is a critical regulator of systemic energy homeostasis by acting as a caloric reservoir.

5.In excess nutrient conditions, the adipose tissue stores surplus nutrients in the form of neutral lipids, whereas in nutrient deficit conditions, it supplies nutrients to other tissues through lipolysis.
