Sketch the character of the post master

The post master is kind hearted and he realizes the separation of love and pain when his daughter Miriam had married a solider who posted in a regiment in Punjab,. He had not received any letters from his daughter for last five years. This made him lonely. This man was the first person to go to post office and last person to depart from the office. So the clerks treated him as a mad man who knows that he won't get any letter but attend to office everyday like a clerk in the post office.
