- Let's assume that a negative point charge (q < 0) is placed at the origin of the coordinates.
- Now, we know that the electrostatic field intensity is directed towards the negative charge. Opposite effect is seen with positive charge.
- As a result, the electric field lines will be terminating on the negative charge.
