Weaving is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth

Indian weavers are specialized in weaving. They are known for their intricate weaving and detailed designs and patterns.

Most of the Indian weavers have passed on their skills from one generation to the next. Most of the traditional weaving societies and communities have been in the weaving industry for plenty of years through many generations.

The cotton is spun by spinning and the thread is woven into a cloth. It is later coloured with dyes.

Although weaving was a boon to Indian textiles, after the British period, the cotton industries were affected and there was a fall in exporting textiles which made people lose their jobs.

The admiration for hand-woven textiles is back in trend now and most people are preferring to use handwoven clothes, bags etc. Silk, cotton, jute, and Khadi are the major types of handwoven clothes and materials along with blockprint, batik prints, tie and dye designs etc. are used nowadays.
