Answer:Our hands are exposed to water for a long time as we wash clothing. As a hypertonic solution, our hands act and the outside of our hands act as a hypotonic solution. As it is porous, our skin behaves like a semi-permeable membrane. So actually the water just leaving also isn't absorbed here and thus it shrinks.
