NARRATOR
Scene 1 - A couple is travelling in a train. Suddenly a passenger jumps in with his luggage. Even after train starts, he keeps holding the luggage on his head. Couple is surprised…
Wife: Why train has stopped?
Husband : It’s a station….couple more to go before we reach destination.
Wife: oh…okay. Look at that passenger who just jumped in.
Husband : Hey… what are you doing? Why are you still standing with the luggage on your head? It’s so funny.
Passenger : It’s “my” luggage… I have to hold it.
Husband : Right… but since train is moving you can just keep it down and wait till you reach destination. It’s not going to run away and you don’t have to stress yourself unnecessarily. You can get to it whenever you need it anyways.
Passenger: Don’t laugh at me. Look at yourself. You are doing the same thing with your ‘past’ in the journey of life anyways! Have you ever let it go? Aren’t you stressed all the time due to it? I am not doing anything different!
Couple : Wow… we never thought about that! Thank you for giving such a wonderful insight!
NARRATOR : This is so true… it was not necessary for the passenger to hold on to his luggage on his head while in transit.
Likewise, we flow through journey of life with so many events, things, challenges and visions. But for some unknown reason we keep holding to our past incidents, grudges, frustrations. It’s like a luggage draining our energies and preventing us from being in the moment! We have to let it go, so that we can see things in clear light and be with the present!
SO KEEP UNNECESSARY LUGGAGE OUT OF YOUR MIND… START THINKING
Scene 2 - A couple in basement looking at things that are stored, messed up and being unused for a long time.
Wife: Oh my god! How much stuff and mess it is out here in our basement?
Husband : really? Let me see.
Wife : You just keep looking but you never do anything about it.
Husband : Well…yes…you know it’s so much to go through… so much important stuff…we need a lot of time to check.
Wife: If you look that way you will never have time. We will have to do little bit at a time and keep it going. Half the things look trash to me and need to go right away. Let me throw those away in trash bin.
Husband : Wait… wait... wait…there might be things which we will need later. Let me look first.
Wife: You never needed these things in last 10 years… just sitting here unused. What you want to look?
Husband : I have to really see it. It’s so difficult to throw them without looking. They look so important. Some possess emotional values too!
Wife: Nothing is that much important if you did not find a use in last 10 years and not having any plans to use it in future. It’s just a waste of resources. As far as emotional values are concerned we will see what to save and how long but we must act on this issue.
Husband: I agree.
Wife: Here is a solution. Let’s make 4 piles – keep it/throw it/donate it/recycle it! Then let’s start going through all the items and sort it accordingly. It will take some time since stuff is lying here for years but we will have to do it.
Husband: That sounds like a plan! Let’s get going…
NARRATOR – As you have seen, the clutter in our house basement needs to be organized for better management of available resources and money.
Same way we have to deal with the clutter in our mind. It also needs to be sorted out regularly. Like material stuff needs to be organized, donated, trashed or recycled, we have to deal with our mind clutter. It’s a way to remain being in the present moment with nirankar or divine. Cleanliness is next to godliness. And cleanliness of mind is Godliness. Unwanted things should not occupy our precious mind space and drain our energies unnecessarily.
SO BE A GOOD PLANNER AND ORGANIZER.
