Stars appear to be darker in space instead of blue to an astrounaut beacuse of the fact that light doesnot get scattered in space and if light is not scattered by any medium, it appears to be black.

it is because the blue colour of sky is due to atmospheric refraction.
as there is no atmosphere like ours in space. So, it looks black to astronauts.
