Slaked lime is used for white washing. After 2-3 day of white washing it gives shiny finish to the walls due to formation of :- (a) CaCO3 (b) CaO (iii) CaCl2 (iv) CaSO4

Explanation:

As we know the molecular formula for slaked lime is CaOH2.While white washing the h2 gas in the slaked lime is released and CaO is left.

In real the calcium oxide is shiny in nature because calcium is not shiny but if it is kept incorrectly it can form calcium oxide which is metal shiny. hope this helps u
