total number of slips = 20

number of odd numbered slips = 10

Probability of drawing an odd numbered slip = ?

we know that P(E) = Number of outcomes favorable to the event divided by  Total number of possible outcomes of the event

hence P(drawing a slip bearing odd number) = number of odd numbered slips divided by total number of slips

= 10/20

=1/2

hence the probability of drawing a slip which bears an odd number is 1/2
