m=( y2 - y1)/(x2 - x-1)

1/2 = (k - 2)/(k^2 - 5)

k^2 - 5 = 2k - 4

k^2 - 2k - 1 0

k^2 - 2x + 1 - 2 =0

(k - 1)^2 - (sqrt2)^2 = 0

{k - (1+ sqrt 2 )}{k - (1 - sqrt2)}= 0

k= 1 + and - sqrt 2

option b is right

using

(a - b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 -2ab

a^2 - b^2'= (a+ b )(a - b)
