Answer

The required slope is 6

Given

  • The points are (4 , -8) and (5 , -2)

To Determine

  • The slope of the line joining the given points

Solution

 \sf we \: know \: that \: if \: (x _{1},y_{1}) \: and \: (x_{2},y_{2})  \\   \sf{are \: two \: points \: then \: the \:  gradient }  \\ \sf of\: line \: joining  \: the \: points \: is \: given \: by :

 \sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{y_{2} -  y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

Thus , the gradient of the line joining the points (4 , -8) and (5 , -2)

 \longrightarrow  \sf\dfrac{ - 2 - ( - 8)}{5 - 4}  \\  \\  \longrightarrow  \sf\dfrac{ - 2 + 8}{5 - 4}  \\  \\  \longrightarrow  \sf\dfrac{6}{1}  \\  \\    \sf\longrightarrow6
