$5x + 2 \div 2x + 3 = 12 \div 7 \\ by cross multiplicaton \\ (5x + 2)7 = 12(2x + 36) \\ 35x + 14 = 24x + 36 \\ 35x - 24x = 36 - 14 \\ 11x = 22 \\ x = 22 \div 11 \\ x = 2$
