 \huge \pink{hello}

2x+y=8-----(1)

x-2y=-1-----(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 1 and (2) by 2, we get

2x+y=8------(3)

2x-4y=-2------(4)

Subtracting (4) from (3),

5y=10

y=2

Substituting y=2 in (1)

2x+2=8

2x=6

x=3

Here, we will use substitution method.

Now,

2x + y = 8 ....(eq.1)

x + 1 = 2y

=> x = 2y-1

Substituting ( x = 2y - 1) in eq.1 , we get

2(2y-1) + y = 8

4y - 2 + y = 8

5y = 8 + 2

5y = 10

y = 10/5

y = 2

=> x = 2(2) - 1

x = 4 - 1

x = 3

Hence,

\boxed{\pink{\bf{x=3;y=2}}}
