Answer:

Perimeter of square = side × 4

16 = side × 4

side = 16/4 = 4 units

If the bottom left vertex of the square is at (0,-5), then the location of the top left vertex will be 4 units upward from ordinate (-5). So, the location of top left vertex is (-1).

Let's assume we have a Square in which top right vertex is to be find given only left bottom vertex.

Firstly their won't be a single vertex there would be infinite so I hope you were prepared for that. If not and you assumed square to be placed in such a way that sides are parallel to x and y axis.

.Case 2 first coz it's easier

given vertex (0,-5). We HAVE to assume 7 units as 7 blocks else their wud be again different case(p.s. please ask question properly)

So assuming 7 units, vertex of bottom right coordinate will be (0+7,-2) we add 7 on x coordinate as we are going right and not going up. We get bottom right coordinate as (-3,-2) Now to get top right we have to go up the y axis and we add 7 to -2 we get (-3,-2+7) i.e. (-3,5)

Let's now take second case. Take a square divide in half diagonally and we get a triangle. Whose sides are a and a and ‘h’ (hypotenuse) using Pythagoras Theorem we find hypotenuse ‘h’ as =√a²+a² = √2a²=a√2

This is the distance we obtained from two coordinates you asked. a is obviously side of square which is given 7 so ‘h’ becomes 7√2.

let coordinate of top right corner be (x,y)

using distance formula we get

√ {x-(-10)}²+{y-(-2)}² = 7√2

square both sides to get x or y
