Given :-

(2x - 1)/5 = (3x + 1)/3

by cross multiplying we get,

➡ 3(2x - 1) = 5(3x + 1)

➡ 6x - 3 = 15x + 5

➡ 6x - 15x = 5 + 3

➡ -9x = 8

➡ x = 8/-9 = -8/9

VERIFICATION :-

LHS -

= [2(-8/9) - 1)]/5

= (-16/9 - 1)/5

= (-16/9 - 9/9)/5

= (-25/9)/5

= -25/9 × 1/5

= 5/9

RHS -

= [3(-8/9) + 1]/3

= (-24/9 + 1)/3

= (-24/9 + 9/9)/3

= (-15/9)/3

= -15/9 × 1/3

= -5/9

HENCE VERIFIED.

the value of x = -8/9
