Answer:

elimination method

multiplying (x-2y=8) with 2

=>2x-4y=16

substracting (2x+3y=2) with (2x-4y=16)

2x+3y=2

2x-4y=16

- + -

=> 7y= -14

=>y= -2

substituting the value of y in (2x+3y=2) we get,

2x+3×-2=2

=>2x=2+6

=>x=8/2

=>x=4

Hence, x=4 & y=-2
