Slove the pairs of equations (10/x+y ) +( 2/x-y) =4 ,(15/x+y) - (5/x-y) = -2​

let (1/x+y) = u and (1/x-y)=v.

the equation becomes:

10u+2v=4---(i)×3

15u-5v=-2(ii)×2

by elimination method we solve :

30u+6v=12

30u-10v=-4

subtract both now ,we get

v=1 or 1/x-y=1

or x-y=1---(iii)

now put v=1 in eqn (i),we get

u=1/5 or 1/x+y=1/5

or x+y=5---(iv)

again, solve the eqn (iii) and (iv) ,we get

x=3 and y=2
