we have to verify whether -(-x) = x or not.
(i) given x = 2/15
LHS :-
= -(-x)
= -(-2/15)
= 2/15 ( as we know that - and - = + )
RHS = x = 2/15
hence, LHS = RHS
(ii) given x = -13/17
LHS :-
= -(-x)
= -[-(-13/7)]
= -(13/7)
= -13/7
RHS = x = 13/7
hence, LHS = RHS
