hey mate your question is wrong .

the answer is (-7) according to if the question is:

(1 + √8)×(1-2√2)

\color{blue}<br />{\underline{\huge{\bold{Answer \: = }}}}<br />

= ( 1 + √8 ) × ( 1 - 2√2 )

= ( 1 + √2×2×2 ) × ( 1 - 2√2 )

= (1 + 2√2) × (1 - 2√2)

= using identity (a + b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2

(1)^2 - (2√2)^2

= 1 - 8

= (-7) Answer

(1 + √8) + (1 - 2√2)
= (1 + 2√2) + (1 - 2√2). [LCM of 8- 2×2×2]

Now by Identity: (a+b) (a-b) = a² - b²

(1 + 2√2) + (1 - 2√2)
= ( 1 )² - (2√2)² [a= 1 ; b= 2√2]
= 1 - 4(2)
= 1 - 8
= -7
