Experts estimate that more than 3000 million litres of untreated sewage from these towns along the Ganges are pumped into the river every day. By the time it reaches Varanasi, whose untreated sewage (or most of it) is also pumped into the waters, it becomes a sewer and the sixth mostpolluted river in the world.

A) AIR POLLUTION ON TAJ MAHAL

Due to various industries and thermal power plants around Taj Mahal it gets polluted. Industries and thermal power plants releases gases like carbon dioxide; carbon monoxide which are combinely pollutes the environment and also causes breathing problems to humans.

Vehicles also releases nitrogen dioxide gas. All these three gases i.e.

carbon dioxide; carbon monoxide & nitrogen dioxide when mix with water vapours form an acidic cloud . When rainfall happens it falls in the form of acid rain. These gases have the capicity to destroy marbles. This is known as MARBLE CANCER.

B) WATER POLLUTION ON RIVER GANGA
