Answer:

national emblem is an emblem or seal that is reserved for use by a nation state or multi-national state as a symbol of that nation. Many nations have a seal or emblem in addition to a national flag and a national coat of arms. Other national symbols, such as national birds, trees, flowers, etc., are listed at lists of national symbols.

Small paragraph on

National Emblem

Every nation has a National Emblem which represents the authority of the State. Our National Emblem has three lions standing back to back. The lions are standing on a platform which has the Ashoka Chakro in the centre, a horse on the left and a bull on the right. Underneath the emblem the words “Satyameva Jayate” are written in Devnagri script. The words mean: Truth alone triumphs. This emblem can be seen on the coins, currency notes, postage stamps, government documents and publications. Our National Emblem has been taken from the Ashoka’s Lion Pillar at Sarnath. The pillar has four lions standing back to back, but only three can be seen from any angle. Our National Emblem was adopted on 26th January 1950.

Additionally :

  • Dinanath Bhargava designed the national emblem of India, 'Lion Capital of Ashoka' along with five others.

  • The national emblem is an adaptation of the Lion Capital, originally found atop the Ashoka Column at Sarnath, established in 250 BC.
