I heard about coronavirus from my teachers. They told us that they were closing the school, but I didn't know the reason why. I asked my father, and he told me that there is a disease that affects people which they are afraid might spread in the school.

I worry a lot. I don't know if the school will be open again and I don't want to miss learning.

I’m so sad that I will miss school. I don’t know when we will resume so that I can continue with my education and meet my friends. This really worries me.

Now the school has been closed for about two months. They told us they will open the school three months from now.

I am also worried about my teachers. Most of them come from far places, and if the school closure continues they will leave us, and if they leave us we won't have any teachers.

To stay safe, I am staying at home. That’s what I am doing now.

I miss my friends.

I read over my lessons so I can keep learning at home. Other than that, I don't do much. In the village, we don't have TV or radio.

When we’re back at school I will be happy to see my friends and my teachers.

When I grow up, I want to be a teacher. I like to teach children.

As India went into the world’s biggest lockdown to combat the deadly virus Covid 19, life came to a halt for all. Amidst the pandemic, what took to our surprise was the rejuvenation of our planet’s environment and so of our school campus. The blue skies and clean air is showing how the nature is slowly healing. The gardens are looking lovely with lush green grass and magnificent flowers all around. So many colourful birds are chirping around singing in melody. There is so much serene beauty all around, but still there is no joy. My campus is missing the kids all around.

Those school assemblies in the morning are no more to be seen. Empty classrooms are gloomy and sad, missing that noise which made them come alive. Library books are so quiet. Computer lab keyboards and mouse have come to a still. Laboratory test tubes ask me, when will our students come back? Blackboards are staring with big eyes all around, there’s no one to look at them. Play ground stands waiting for basketballs, shuttlecocks and tennis balls being tossed around. The school buses have declared a shutdown in agony.

Amidst all this, your teachers are missing you too. They are trying to reach you through online classes, working for long hours together, to help you learn from home. To catch a glimpse of your lovely faces and to hear your beautiful voices, I slowly enter your online class ensuring that I don’t disturb you.

Each child is a genius to us and you are loved from the bottom of our hearts. I pray for the well being of you and your families.
