HELLO DEAR,

Solar thermal power or electric generation system collect sunlight and concentrate all collected sunlight to reciever to produce the heigh temperature heat , which is needed to generate electricity.

The solar thermal power systems have main two components:-

i) Reflectors (mirrors)

ii) Receiver.

Reflectors ( mirrors) reflect all collected sunlight to receiver.

And receiver receive all reflected light.

I HOPE IT'S HELP YOU DEAR,

THANKS.

Small solar thermal units are based on mirrors and  use concentrated solar energy

  • To focus sunlight from a broad area into a narrowly focused beam, solar systems employ mirrors and the tracking systems.
  • In an efficient turbine, which drives a generator to generate electricity, steam is efficiently converted into mechanical energy.
  • During the day, when the sun shifts its optimal position in the sky, the tracking systems usually keep direct sunlight focused on the leading receiver.
  • For different applications, like traditional steam-based power plants, water desalination, or for cooking, concentrated heat is then used as a heat source.
