QUESTION ::

Smallest factor of number is itself. True or False

ANSWER ::

False, the smallest factor of any number is not itself.

Factors are the numbers whose products make the given number. It means I have asked factor of 12 then it's factors will be 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12 because

  • 2 * 6 = 12
  • 1 * 12 = 12
  • 3 * 4 = 12

So, like this we can identify the factors but the smallest factor of any number is 1 since it is divisible to all numbers and the largest factor of any number is the number itself. As by example given above the smallest factor is 1 and largest factor is number itself i.e. 12.
